Anything new under the stars?

Stick a fork in it, it's done....

2006 is almost history. Yea!!!! 2007 promises to be another wild ride with lots of new stuff for Ig & Company.
- Ig graduates from school this spring, which will hopefully lead to some cool, well paying job and prosperity for our clan.
-We'll have a 20, 17, and 16 year old in the house. Please start praying for us now. Enough said about that.
-Ig & I have decided to not return to Noah's Ark as the summer entertainment this year. ( Ig thought 15 seasons was enough for him) So, as a teacher, I might have a summer off!!!Except for festivals and band gigs etc.
-Ig & I may begin to venture into some different music styles together and explore some new venues to play in. Ig's even talking about taking out the mighty string bass to play. I can hardly wait, he is a great bass player and it'll be a treat to listen to. (I know it's so unfair that he's a great singer, guitar, and bass player amongst other things. Maybe I should take up the spoons? Well, he hasn't figured out how to do everything by himself yet, so the band and I are safe for the moment.
)
-I'm planning on actually having some time to practice, practice, practice during my summer.I may even try writing some stuff of my own.

Well, enough about 2007. I still have to finish 2006. We have to set up for tonight's gig at 2:00, so I'd better get stuff around and ready.
Bye.

We have tonight off so I actually have 2 whole days of freedom. Yipee! The kids just left and the house is left to Ig and I. Time for the fun and merriment to comence. Bye.

 Tuesday afternoon...

Tuesday afternoon..reminds me of a song. The work day's done and now for the evening. Supper and then my youngest starts her driving classes..BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID!!!! Ig's still at school, and the girls are off on an errand so I'm at the house by myself for awhile. Do I do something exotic or exciting?? Nope, I blog. HMMMmmm, could be another area to work on there. Not that blogging's bad, it just seems like I should be up to something else. Ig's school is getting crazy again, or still. I'll be so glad when he's finally done with that. Next semester should be his last one. He's supposed to be meeting with a counsler to confirm that today.

 Snow, snow, SNOW!

The Christmas season is now officially under way. We really got our share of snow to kick things off. Not to mention a snow day on Friday. Yipee!

Well, only a yip now that I think of it. We had a gig Friday night in Milwaukee. Milwaukee had blizzard conditions earlier in the day. I lost count of all the cars in the ditch on our 1 1/2 hour drive there. Our ramp was closed and traffic was impossible. We had to try and get directions to the club in downtown Milwaukee, I was so happy & I almost cried when we finallly saw a policeman standing on a corner-AND HE SPOKE ENGLISH!!!! We got to the gig an hour late but still managed to be ready by our 9:30 start time. Of course there was the glorious hauling of equipment through knee deep snow and slush. Then there was the old fart stripper who thought he wanted to impress me with his dazzling dance moves and come hither ( I'm actually a serial killer) looks. Part of his dance routine included picking up a heavy wooden stool after falling into a table and thinking about throwing it at the band. (I saw the idea in his glazed, bloodshot eyes) Ig actually left the stage and helped the crazy jerk see the errors in his ways. In spite of everything the manager loved us, and I think they'll want us back again.HO, ho, ho! Then we had to tear down after 1:30 and haul our stuff back through the snow. Ig finally got me home and tucked safely into bed at 5:00 AM with strains of don't call us, we'll call you floating through my head.

So, now it's Sunday morning, I slept almost all day yesterday, and I've got to get back on track. My big plan for today is:
-hit the treadmill
-pay those bills!!!
-get copies made for Iggy Jr. at college
-frost some Christmas cookies
-go grocery shopping
-Spend time with Ig
-Spend time with Ig
-Spend time with Ig

'tis the season. Have a great day. Bye for now.

 For Ig

As many mince pies as you taste at Christmas,
so many happy years will you have.
-Old English Saying

But of course, of all the pies in the world, pumpkin is king. If you lined up all of the different kinds of pies in a row and included the worst pumpkin pie, the pumpkin would be still be king.
